Yes this is true now you can download all your search history with the help of 'Google'. You just need to visit "https://history.google.com/history", where you can see all your search history while you was login in your Email account. There you can see a setting icon, click on it and then click 'download' All your search history will now be downloaded in your 'Drive' from where you can download it to your desktop.  You can also remove your search history if you want. It is up to you weather you want to save your history or not you can opt Turn Off any time you want to your search to to get saved.
