2014 is about to end. But this this we have gone through some amazing campaigns, which have not only been successful but have touched our hearts, also some of them had made a history. Here are top five social media campaigns according to me.

1.ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (ALS Association)


A Challenge to dump a bucket of ice water on head to promote the awareness of disease ALS(Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and encourage donations to it's research. This challenge goes really viral and has an impact until now. Even the celebrities had taken it happily.

2.#LikeAGirl (Always)


If you are a girl you must have heard this in your life, that you are doing this like a girl, doing that like a girl. So, what you feel about yourself? Is it bad to be a girl? 

This is what this campaign all about, "What does it mean to do things #LikeAGirl." I personally love the video they made.

3.Born for the Internet (MTS)


MTS 3GPlus Network has made this smart, cute just born baby video which goes viral making a successful media campaign, The baby is shown cutting the umbilical cord at birth, to taking a selfie and posting it on social media. Interesting, but no doubt it could be true in future, what say?

4.#BendTheRules (HP)


The HP campaign for the launch of 'HP Pavilion x360' is another notable one. Have you ever did something for which you had bend the rules? Well millions of people had shared their stories and videos with HP. 

5.#BringBackOurGirls


This Campaign was launched to raise awareness and pressure the Nigerian government for demand to return more than 300 girls kidnapped by heavily armed Boko Haram terrorists stormed a school in northern Nigeria, set fire to it.

Women in India kept fast for their husband every year for their long life and happiness on the day of Karwa Chauth. In this social initiative by Shaadi.com, Men also kept fast for their wives to show their love for her, and millions of men including Chetan Bhagat and other celebrities kept fast for their wives. Well I must say here Shaadi.com had bend the rules in India, Right.

I Am a Daughter of India and Not Proud of It

मैं हू बेटी इस भारत की, पर है मुझको कोई गर्वे नही. इंसानो को रहने वाले यहा, है आती कोई शर्म नही. जब भी मैं घर से निकली , लोगो ने घूरा और लूटा. जिसने भी प्यार से पूछकरा, मन मे होता कुछ और था. हर बेटी के घर मे भी यहा, रहना वाला दुषासन है. कभी तोड़ दिया कभी छोड़ दिया, हर कोई यहा पे दुश्मन है. जो किया विरोध तो मार दिया, कभी जला दिया कभी राख किया. कोई अपना दिखता ही नही, सब मे हैवान ही दिखता है. फिर भी दुनिया ये क्यो आख़िर, मुझपे ही आरोप लगती है. कभी इस तरफ कभी उस तरफ, हर तरफ से ताने सुनती है. कहती है क्यो पहने कपड़े ऐसे, क्यो तू बाहर जाती है. पर अये भारत अब हर लड़की , तुझ पे ये सवाल उठती है. क्यो हर मा बेटी को ही , बेटे को क्यो ना समझती है. क्यो बेटी ही सहती है सब, क्यो वो ही छुपती जाती है. मैं हू बेटी इस भारत की, पर है मुझको कोई गर्वे नही. इंसानो को रहने वाले यहा, है आती कोई शर्म नही.

Digital Media Comes in the Second Place to TV in India

Back in days we have this one very entertainment resource in our houses i.e. TV with a single channel. I am a 90's kid so I have seen my  entertainment interest changing very drastically from Doordarshan to multiple channels to choose from to Social media and now YouTube Series. In India daily avg time spend on digital platforms is 1 hour and 18 minutes after Japan where people spend 3 hours 5 minutes and South Korea the time spend is 3 hours 26 minutes according to eMarketer’s latest forecast on time spent with media. 14.4% growth is expected this year in daily usage of digital platform in India among adults. Indian internet infrastructure is still developing, In 2017 we spend 34 minutes with smartphones which is 23.1% more than previous year.  Overall media among the adult population in India will grow by 5.1% in 2017.
